      Grades 5-8 More than a year after the events in Absolutely Truly (2014), 13-year-old Truly Lovejoy and her family are comfortably settled into the small town of Pumpkin Falls, New Hampshire, along with her grandparents and aunt True. During True's honeymoon, Truly and her grandparents are living on the farm that the newlyweds recently purchased and tending their flock of sheep. When a series of minor pranks escalates from annoying to destructive and threatening, her grandparents contact the police, while Truly calls her eighth-grade classmates in the PFPE (Pumpkin Falls Private Eyes) into action once again. In the inviting first-person narrative, Truly struggles to deal with the flattering but puzzling attention of two boys at once, while trying to master new skills she never expected to learn, from sheep herding to lock picking. Frederick gracefully fills in the backstory as needed. Besides its colorful fall in New England setting, the third book in the Pumpkin Falls Mystery series offers an engaging portrayal of the Lovejoy family, their unusual traditions, and their close ties to their community. A cozy mystery.
