La gata Jet (no es una gata)

PreS-Gr 1-Jet loves to do things that other cats do. She loves to jump and always enjoys a good stretch. But Jet also enjoys things that other cats don't, such as taking a swim in the water and practicing her singing. Because of these interests, her animal friends aren't quite sure Jet is a cat at all; perhaps Jet is a frog, or a bird, or maybe even a goat. Jet considers these possibilities until her mind is in a whirlwind, and she puts her paw down. Jet and her friends find that it is OK to have different interests. Bright, colorful spreads show the beautiful world in and around the farm where Jet and her friends live. Jet's interactions with her animal friends are amusing to observe, with the Spanish text bolded and capitalized at times for emphasis. This humorous picture book will provide a variety of opportunities to discuss different animals and animal behaviors, along with the importance of accepting others and ourselves even when our interests differ. VERDICT A lovely picture book about friendship and embracing uniqueness, perfect for Spanish-language picture book collections.-Selenia Paz
